Create a seven-storey commercial building at Barangaroo, which is warm and inviting and embodies the sustainability aspirations of the precinct.
International House celebrates mass timber as a construction material where it has been employed for its versatility, inherent sustainability, site benefits and most importantly its natural aesthetics and support of user well being. As an Australian first, it also seeks to demonstrate to the commercial market that an exposed timber structure is a distinctive and desirable proposition. The timber is the real hero of International House, and lighting is used to accentuate its textural and ambient qualities, allowing the spruce timber to glow its natural warm honey colour. Intra Lighting’s GYON profile was carefully selected as part of architectural integration.
