Matt's approachable, knowledgeable and down-to-earth personality has seen Light Project grow into an award-winning lighting supply specialist, servicing the design and construction industries of Australia and beyond.
Simonne Bailey
Chief Executive Officer
Simonne has over 20 years’ experience in the property sector. She is recognised as a thought leader and futurist with a passion for socially sustainable and commercially successful outcomes across communities. Simonne has a track record is using design-led principles through the lifecycle of an asset whilst implementing innovative large-scale placemaking and building solutions, demonstrated across a variety of sectors including commercial, multi-use, education, social and affordable residential developments.
Ian Harrop
Director | NZ
Ian has extensive experience in supplying customer focused lighting solutions spanning 20 years, and now head of Light Project New Zealand's offering. Formerly working in design roles in the Middle East with a background in Interior Architecture & Design, Ian has held various senior sales roles promoting some of the biggest brands in lighting. He brings to Light Project his valuable knowledge and experience to the New Zealand market nationally. Focused on developing established relationships with key clients using creative solutions and best practice, Ian enjoys the detailed design process, using light to enhance architecture.
Simone Hicks
Chief Operating Officer
Simone brings legal and business acumen to her role ensuring a solid governance structure underpins the high performance of her team. In her role as Chief Operating Officer she oversees the end to end operations of the business and is always looking for new ways to improve and accelerate its growth. Simone encourages a team-based environment to support Light Project’s growth and the ongoing operational excellence demanded and relied upon by our customers.
Tom Curtis
General Manager
Tom has been a valued member of the Light Project family for over 10 years. As part of our original sales team, Tom has an inherent understanding of Light Project’s history, the value of our relationships and the knowledge and experience we proudly represent. Tom’s former experience as a practicing Architect is fundamental to his collaborative approach to supplying lighting solutions. He has an understanding of space and design and a love for lighting that combined help realise the best lighting outcomes. Tom naturally brings passion and enthusiasm to everything he does - always available to share his time and experience to collaborate with the team, clients and stakeholders.
Anna Vagg
Product Manager
Anna has over 14 years of lighting experience internationally with some of the world’s leading lighting brands. Her intricate understanding of our brand partners, their product offering and our customer requirements allows her to support and influence the lighting solutions made available for our Australian and New Zealand markets. Anna’s technical knowledge in combination with a structured approach and a keen eye for design sees her supplying the Light Project team and our customers with sales tools and marketing collateral that successfully visualise our offering and help simplify the specification process.

Design Manager
Steven's journey as a lighting designer began in theatre, captivating audiences through the play of light and shadow. Venturing into architecture, he gained recognition for his contributions to prestigious projects worldwide. With over a decade of experience, Steven consistently delivers exceptional lighting designs, distinguishing himself in the industry. His pragmatic approach ensures stunning outcomes for clients by transforming their visions into reality. Steven's extensive experience and innate understanding of light and space allow him to create impactful designs. As the head of our Design Team, he brings a wealth of talent, expertise, and dedication, consistently exceeding expectations and providing exceptional lighting experiences.

Senior Technical Consultant
Matteo’s professional journey is marked by a wealth of international experience in lighting design and project delivery. Despite an academic foundation in political science, his true passion ignited within his family's lighting design business. Immersed in every facet of the industry, Matteo gained comprehensive knowledge across the design process and all project delivery stages. Collaborating closely with design consultants, lighting manufacturers and clients, he has successfully completed numerous projects globally. Matteo's remarkable ability to navigate design complexities, coupled with an unwavering commitment to seamless project delivery, establishes him as a seasoned professional. His diverse background and dedication undoubtedly enrich the field, leaving a lasting impact on every project he engages in.
Robert Thew
Technical Consultant
Robert has extensive experience across the property and construction industry. A fully qualified electrician, Robert has a passion for architecture and project development. Prior to transitioning to lighting supply, Robert spent time in the high-end Sydney residential sales market. Robert enjoys engaging with clients, patient to identify the specific requirements toward their most concise lighting solution.
David Scarfo
Technical Consultant
David brings a unique expertise to the team that can elevate projects to new heights. He has a diverse range of experience as a seasoned lighting designer, industrial designer, electrician, and holds a Master of Architectural Science degree with a specialisation in Lighting Design. This versatile skillset allows him to collaborate with clients to amalgamate his vision with theirs; creating bespoke lighting and spaces that evoke emotion. He has curated an impressive portfolio of spaces across many industries – from residential to commercial – and prides himself on his ability to harness the transformative power of light. With national and international experience David has a deep passion for innovative lighting design and is resolute in his dedication to deliver exceptional lighting solutions that shape extraordinary experiences for all stakeholders.

Project Coordinator
Ajab brings a vast and diverse background of experience in Customer Service, CRM and Project Management. She is a self-starter and quick learner, who always goes the extra mile and does whatever it takes to get the job done efficiently and in a safe manner. Ajab amiable nature and ability to collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders whilst always putting the client’s needs first sees her managing and driving any project towards success with ease.
Luke Bowden
Project Coordinator
Luke has multifaceted experience across various fields of lighting, working with a diverse range of stakeholders. He began his career in the film and TV lighting industry where he worked directly with clients and logistics management. With a keen interest in architectural lighting and design, Luke next spent a few years in the electrical wholesale industry where he worked with various suppliers delivering projects on all scales. Luke's insight and experience sees him effectively liaise with key stakeholders to plan and deliver project requirements within agreed deadlines.
Cecilia Xu
Accountant
Cecilia manages Light Project's accounting function and reporting. Cecilia is a Certified Practicing Accountant (CPA) and has substantial experience in payroll, accounts payable and receivable functions in both large corporate and small business. She is relied upon by the entire Light Project team - diligent, attentive to detail and always responsive - she is a team player able to surpass performance goals, whilst effectively explaining complex information to our team in a comprehensible manner.
Rebecca Dolan
Supply Chain Coordinator
Rebecca has over 15 years’ experience working within the construction and manufacturing sectors where she has gained a comprehensive understanding of finance, credit management, operations and procurement. In her role she oversee all inventory-related activities and her primary focus revolves around supporting supply chain operations. She actively engages in communication with suppliers and freight forwarders while managing all inbound and outbound processes. Rebecca’s pivotal role ensures the seamless flow of products through the Light Project supply chain, ensuring they reach the end customer without disruptions.
