MYER Warringah

Sydney

BRIEF

Looking to connect with customers in new ways, MYER engaged Woods Bagot in collaboration with COVA Thinking, to conceptualise and implement with TRG a new store design for the aspirational shopper. A fundamental design principal from Woods Bagot was to remove the ceiling to make better use of height. COVA’s corresponding retail lighting design centered around perception of lighting levels and focal lighting to draw customers into and around the store. For MYER Warringah, COVA took a highly customised approach, tailoring current and completely new fixtures. “The ambient lighting has effectively set the ceiling height and the revised colour temperature has changed the DNA of the store from a department store to something more luxury,” says COVA’s managing director, Ben Evans.

“Our vision for MYER Warringah was for the space from a lighting to perspective to feel like a luxury specialty store, but on a much bigger scale.”
