Forging New Lighting Design Possibilities With Nocturnal Lighting
AT LIGHT PROJECT WE’VE ADMIRED THE CRAFTSMANSHIP OF NOCTURNAL LIGHTING FOR MANY YEARS. THERE’S A PRECISION TO THEIR WORK THAT CATCHES OUR EYE. WE’VE HAD THE PLEASURE OF WORKING WITH NOCTURNAL’S OWNER, NICK GLASSON, MANY TIMES AND, IN A NEW PARTNERSHIP DEVELOPMENT, WE’RE EXCITED TO BE NOCTURNAL’S EXCLUSIVE NATIONAL DISTRIBUTOR.
Nick and his team manufacture a range of high-quality exterior architectural lighting products from their factory in Sydney’s northern beaches. “I’ve got a good group of guys in here,” says Nick. “Together we get things done the Nocturnal way – check it and check it again. We’re perfectionists.”
All Nocturnal fittings are crafted in-house and assembled with absolute precision. This kind of attention to detail is something that Light Project greatly respects. Nocturnal’s product range is designed around LED technology and has an excellent range of finishes.
Nocturnal has worked on a broad range of projects, fabricating the modernist-inspired lighting in the each room of Canberra’s Hotel Hotel, as well as its desk lamps, bathroom mirror lights and hotel corridor lighting. “We worked directly with the interior designer to produce the lighting,” says Nick. “A lot of engineering was involved in producing the fittings.”
Nocturnal also created lighting, signage and brass room numbers for QT Sydney Hotel. This project saw them working directly with creative design consultancy, Point of View, and architect Nicholas Graham.
Light Project is now the exclusive Australian supplier of Nocturnal Lighting’s Standard range as well as their custom capabilities.
“Light Project have supported us since 2008 – from the very first day. We wouldn’t have partnered with anyone else.” The feeling is certainly mutual!
